Fourth Annual Crissey Zoological Nutrition Symposium

Dec. 8 - 9: The 4th Annual Crissey Zoological Symposium will be held at
The North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  This
symposium is for professional nutritionists, researchers and veterinarians
working with zoo animals, interested students, and, for the keynote
address, the general public.  The symposium’s first day will focus on
reptile and amphibian nutrition while the second day will encompass
nutrition talks from all areas.  We are very pleased to have Dr. Sara
Decherd talking about Dinosaur Nutrition for our keynote speaker this

Through a grant from the Dr. Scholl Foundation, Lincoln Park Zoo and the Chicago Park District have sponsored nine conferences on the nutrition of captive wild animals. These conferences, held between 1980 and 1991, provided for educational exchange among zoo professionals on the many aspects of zoo animal nutrition and encouraged cooperation among zoo professionals in solving diet problems and directing future research.

Lincoln Park Zoo has copies of the 3^rd, 4^th & 5^th, 6^th & 7^th, 8^th, and 9^th Dr. Scholl’s Conference Proceedings. These proceedings are available as a set for $40 (includes the cost of shipping within the US).  Unfortunately, the proceedings from the 1^st and 2^nd conferences are not available. If you are interested in purchasing this set, please send a check for $40 US dollars made payable to: Lincoln Park Zoo. Individual volumes are also available for $10 each.
